Title
Fictions of the Present in a Damaged World: Imagination, Bodies, Affect, and Gender/Genre
Abstract
This project aims to explore the relationships between literature and gender from a perspective that integrates feminist theories, the study of affect and emotions, and the analysis of the political potential of their representations. We are interested in analyzing the different figurations of sexual genders, but also in examining the varied forms of appropriation of literary genres. Ultimately, this reading, which articulates the dual meaning of the Spanish term "género" (both gender and genre in English), can be understood, on the one hand, in the context of a profound crisis of cisheteropatriarchal culture and, on the other, in a growing generic hybridization.
