Mediadores e intermediarios del pensamiento social y cultural argentino: una aproximación comparativa y estructural

El presente proyecto aborda un tema ampliamente investigado por las humanidades y las ciencias sociales: los intelectuales, su posición y función en la configuración de las culturales nacionales. Avanza en dos sentidos innovadores: la recuperación de agentes poco frecuentados por los estudios académicos dedicados a la historia de las ideas, de los intelectuales y de la cultura en Argentina, y de prácticas y procesos socio-culturales que, o bien son considerados de manera tangencial, no sistemática, o que directamente son obliterados, aún en los abordajes sociológicos sobre el tema. Nos interesa indagar el rol de tales agentes como mediadores e intermediarios culturales, así como la presencia de otros mediadores e intermediarios culturales en sus publicaciones y posiciones, agentes (personas, instituciones) significativos entre las condiciones de posibilidad de sus obras y trayectorias en el campo cultural (intelectual, académico, periodístico, etc.). Se propone investigar una serie de figuras que además de autores han realizado significativas labores como mediadores e intermediarios culturales, como Gregorio Weinberg, Aníbal Ponce y Gregorio Selzer; El problema también será observado a través de plataformas editoriales; entre otras, las revistas Verbum y del Círculo Militar. También se trabajará sobre fenómenos de traducción y recepción en el cam,po intelectual. Entre otros, la recepción de la escuela sociológica francesa desde la década de 1950 y la presencia de Norberto Bobbio en las tramas intelectuales de la "transición democrática". En síntesis, se busca pensar un problema estructural de la historia cultural, a partir de tres ángulos, con miras a la comparación y a la búsqueda de parámetros teóricos capaces de renovar las preguntas y formas de pensar un tema axial de la configuración de nuestra cultura nacional.

Mediators and Intermediaries of Argentine Social and Cultural Thought: a Comparative and Structural Approach

Abstract

This project addresses a topic that has been extensively studied in the humanities and social sciences: intellectuals, their position and their role in shaping national cultures. It makes progress in two innovative ways: by recovering agents that have received little attention from academic studies on the history of ideas, intellectuals and Argentine culture, and by examining sociocultural practices and processes that are either addressed tangentially and non-systematically, or that are simply overlooked, even in sociological approaches to the subject. We are interested in exploring the role of such agents as cultural mediators and intermediaries, as well as the presence of other mediators and intermediaries in their publications and positions—agents (individuals and institutions) significant to the conditions of possibility of their works and trajectories in the cultural field (intellectual, academic, journalistic, etc.). The aim of this project is to study various figures who, in addition to being authors, have performed significant roles as cultural mediators and intermediaries, such as Gregorio Weinberg, Aníbal Ponce, and Gregorio Selzer. Moreover, the topic will be examined through various publishing platforms, including the journals Verbum and Círculo Militar. Research will also focus on translation and reception phenomena in the intellectual field, such as the reception of the French sociological tradition since the 1950s and the presence of Norberto Bobbio in the intellectual networks of the “democratic transition”. In short, the aim is to examine a structural issue in cultural history from three perspectives, intending to compare and identify theoretical frameworks capable of reframing the questions and ways of thinking about a central aspect in the shaping of our national culture.
