Title
Essayistic Speculations and Literary Configurations of Crowds and Communities in Literatures of the Southern Cone (Argentina, Bolivia and Perú): Future Time, Exposure and Monstrosity in the Representations of the Popular Overflow (1950-2022)
Abstract
Drawing on explorations and analyses, resulting from sustained research over the past years, we have noticed the spread of aesthetics and genres, together with new intersections, negations, and outbursts between them, which shape contemporary local and global literatures and imaginaries, and magnify the existence of disruptive forms such as the dystopian future, exposure as a negation—not only of the city but also of the community—and the monstrous. In that way, this project—an inevitable continuation of the previous ones—puts forward a theoretical and methodological proposal that will aim to further explore the modulations of disruptive elements, also known as moments of possible futurity. These disruptive elements and moments outline images of the popular as effects that are both threatening and generative within geocultural communities, creating the abandonment and the exposure as diegetic figures of outbursts and negotiations (Kusch, 1975).
